RECRUITMENT OF NIGERIAN LABOUR/LONG TERM POLICY
We recognize the abundance manpower available in Nigeria. So do not hesitate to avail ourselves of this opportunity. Hundred percent (100%) of our labour is recruited from within the country. Our current staff strength, which includes both the technical and administrative are beefed up through local labour. The human resource department of Dendion Logistics Services Limited identifies these professionals, whose job placement is obtained through the company’s advert. Detailed curriculum vitae are received from such qualifications, an interview is conducted and recruitment effected.
For artisans/tradesmen, years of experience quality of workmanship and trade test certificate are some of the criteria used for employment.
DENDION LOGISTICS SERVICES LIMITED, does not believe in arbitrary hiring of workers. We operates a long term policy for Nigerian workers recruited. Our policy for Nigeria labour recruited is in line with the provisions of the Labour act of 1990 or as amended. The company recognizes the need to bring about and maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency so as to contribute to long term security employees in the light of economic plans established by the government. All engagements shall be probationary for the first 3 months of service and subject to the receipt by the company of satisfactory references and the results of medical examination conducted by the company’s retainership clinic.
STAFF TRAINING
We are determined to improve upon the skills and experience achieved by our workers. That’s why a training scheme is made available for our technical and managerial staff, both Junior and Senior. Training programmes includes but not limited to the following. Members of staff are to attend safety courses organized by shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and the Nigeria Institute of Safety Professionals. 90% of supervisory personnel are to attend safety management courses. All drivers are to attend defensive driving courses (DDC1&) during their course in the company.
POLICY FOR COMMUNITY LIAISON AND RELATIONSHIP
– DENDION LOGISTICS SERVICES LIMITED recognizes the frustrations of communities that is why our community development approaches are linked to alleviating economic stress and the suffering of the host community.
– We recognize obstacles to effective community relationship which includes but not limited to, poor company organization and management, diversion of funds by community elders, aggressive attitude among youths and communication gap between company host community. In view of these, we therefore strive to correct these hindrance for effective and efficient community relationship.
– Effective communication between host and company is essential towards community development and prompt completion of project. We therefore employ the services of an experienced member of staff as a liaison officer to handle discussions and relations with communities on an ongoing basis.
– Prior to commencement of work, our management staff, the community liaison officer and security supervisors shall hold a meeting with the communities to ascertain and address the needs of the host community in terms of employment, community development and assistance.
– We encourage the full participation of host communities in project planning, implementation and monitoring.
